Cabinets of Value

by admin on August 4, 2008

Kitchen cabinet manufacturers searching out ways to give consumers more value for their money during the recent housing boom, looked overseas more and more for cheapest kitchen cabinets. The Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) made an effort to bring overseas cabinets, also known as ready to assemble (rta) cabinets up to standards. The usual quality of the before product were made with inferior materials and workmanship, such as: fiberboards, particle boards, dowels and staples. These cabinets were also made with veneer surfaces that did not hold up in the kitchen environment—ie: water.

The overseas manufacturers stepped up their quality of product. Cabinets of value from overseas manufacturers are now being built with solid plywood sides, solid wood frames and doors. They even have cam lock assemblies that require only a screwdriver to assemble them.

There is now a more competitive edge to kitchen cabinets. US manufacturers were charging much more than the overseas manufacturers. Big box stores are carrying these rta cabinets. For the largest value buy them ready to assemble, which requires much more time and effort, yet also showcase your talents both in value and end product. Be aware though these cabinets come in limited styles and finishes.

When shopping for cheapest kitchen cabinets be sure to give the ready to assemble value cabinets a glance. I don’t believe you will be sorry.
